Failures are stepping stones

Any aspect of your life you will experience failure at some point or another. What is important to understand is that these failures are like stepping stones towards real progress in life. What is important is your sincerity. In our spiritual life we are trying to get rid of our egos. We can never get rid of our egos as that defines our individual identity as a unique soul. We can however get rid of our false ego. And knowing that we are honestly earnestly striving for the right thing, striving to give up our false egos should give us some comfort. We want to be the servant of the servant of the servant of Krishna, but from time immemorial we are conditioned by habits that keep distracting us from our real eternal goal .

Our material conditioning should not depress and make us miserable, but it should humble us. Humble us to understand that we really really need to take shelter of the gifts given to us by Guru and Krishna. Try to live a life with spiritual integrity. Being honest with oneself and practicing our spiritual practice with our heart. Being respectful to others, we should put our egos aside for a higher principle. That is the path of perfection.

The holy names are the medicine. We have a deep chronic disease but we have to take this medicine with patience and determination. Rupa Goswami, a saint and an associate of the Lord, says enthusiasm, patience and determination are the key ingredients. It is the formula of sincerity. Understand that failure can depress us, but it has no value for spiritual growth or it could humble us to understand the urgency how I need to take shelter in a deeper way.
